Leigh-on-sea, A Happy Town
On the mouth of the Estuary, a 40 minute journey on the C2C train-line into central London lies Leigh-on-sea, a bustling fishing village first mentioned by name in the 1086 Doomsday Book.
Famous for its seafood the old town with its pubs, restaurants and cafes hosts many music & community events particularly during the summer months. There is a lovely Sandy beach and, behind the train station a beautiful nature reserve and bird sanctuary Two Tree Island. Wander up the old steps into the Broadway and Leigh Road to find an eclectic range of boutiques, independent stores, cafes, bars, restaurants and even a artisan food market. Our little shop Scape Interiors is nestled here at number 79.
Until the pandemic hit we had rented out the upstairs 3 bedroom maisonette to dance students from a local college. When the college unexpectedly and suddenly relocated we took the opportunity to completely refurbish the apartment and advertise it on the Airbnb platform and haven’t looked back since.
With three fully furnished double bedrooms, a large bathroom with bath and separate shower, a fitted kitchen and large lounge overlooking the Broadway with sea views, an outside terrace and seating area, it makes the perfect location for a family or group of friends to spend a few days in Leigh-on-sea, which was recently voted the happiest town in the UK to live in.
Spend time exploring the local area, enjoying the many water sports on offer, trying out the local seafood snd craft beers, enjoying the many parks and woodland areas, training into London or visiting family and friends.
At less than £100 per week for the whole apartment it works out at little over £30 per night for a double room. We provide a lovely welcome hamper, there is free parking very close by, it gives excellent value for money for a few days beside the seaside. If you would like to visit Leigh on sea, we look forward to welcoming you. Here is a link to the apartment
